A heart in fear, a mind in plight.

A beautiful dawn will bring the day.
Wearing your white coat, oath in hand,
With teary eyes, you’ll proudly stand

All these struggles will fade to gray,
When you’re the doctor, lighting the way

Prepare MDCAT Syllabus at least 15 days before test?

You still have time to prepare for the MDCAT, but you need to finish the syllabus at least 15 days before the test. This means, in every possible way, you must complete the syllabus. Even if you plan to revise in those last 15 days, incorporate that into your schedule now because in those final days, you will likely feel nervous. It's natural to feel this way as a human because the test you have been preparing for since nursery school will determine your future. These three to four hours will decide the outcome of your 11-12 years of hard work.

preparation MDCAT is going well?

I hope your preparation is going well. If possible, exceed your current best because this is the time you have. Do not disappoint your parents, friends, and teachers who have expectations from you. Moreover, do not waste your long journey of hard work. Stay focused and avoid wasting time because things might be tough, but once you enter, you will be able to handle them. There is still time to take your preparation to the best level. One important thing for MDCAT students during this preparation is to stay sincere with themselves. If you are doing this and following good guidelines, you can easily get selected.

How should you prepare?

You probably already know these things, but I'll remind you. You likely have a schedule for your preparation, and as I mentioned, make sure to finish the syllabus 15 days before the test. Your schedule should allocate proper time for each subject, with more time for weaker subjects. Do not underestimate English and Logical Reasoning, and do not leave them for the last days. Studying only English in the last days can be boring, so include some time for these subjects in your current schedule. There are 24 MCQs for English and Logical Reasoning. Your merit number matters for selection, and these 24 MCQs account for 6% of the aggregate, so keep studying them alongside other subjects.

Should you study books from other provinces?

Regarding books, especially for Biology, do not limit yourself to your province's books because Biology is a vast subject. The more you read, the more knowledge you gain. Different books provide different concepts in various wordings, helping you to understand better. For other subjects like Chemistry and Physics, first study your province's books, and if you have time, go for high-yield notes or other worthy materials. For practice, solve the MCQs you find high yield. If you don't understand, you can buy tests from Spark MDCAT (contact 03259730538). When you practice at this level, moderate and easy questions will become very manageable. Do not waste time on moderate and easy questions because you can already solve them.

Depression during MDCAT preparation

  • Having depression and anxiety before an exam like Mdcat is a common problem faced by the majority of the aspirants. But a few tips can help you handle this stress.
  • Mdcat is a game of nerves and being stressed can be really harmful not only for your physical but also mental health.
  • Work hard but at the same time have complete faith in yourself and Allah Almighty.

Students in the college and academies tend to compare their progress with that of others. Don’t ever do that.

  • You might compare your weak points with strong points of others.

Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from progress. The day you go off this fear of failure is when you start moving towards success.

  • When you fall, you need to stand up straight and NEVER GIVE UP.
  • Surround yourself with positive people who boost you up and motivate you to become the best version of yourself.
  • Remove depressive thoughts and negative people from your life that just drain your soul.

How to study more in less time?

  • SET CLEAR GOALS
  • Define what you want to accomplish in each study session to stay focused.

  • CREATE A SCHEDULE
  • Plan your study time in advance, breaking it into smaller, manageable chunks.

  • ELIMINATE DISTRACTIONS
  • Find a quiet and comfortable study space free from distractions like phone or social media.

  • TAKE BREAKS
  • Studies suggest that taking short breaks can improve focus and retention.

  • PRIORITISE TASKS
  • Focus on high priority tasks first to ensure you cover the most important material first.

  • PRACTICE RETIEVAL
  • Test yourself on the material to reinforce learning and improve memory recall.

Effective study methods to excel (Topper’s strategy)

  • PRACTICE REGULARLY
  • Practice solving previous years’ question papers and take mock tests. This will help you to understand exam pattern and manage time.

  • TIME MANAGEMENT
  • Create a study schedule and stick to it. Allocate specific time slots for each subject or topic, ensuring everything before exam.

  • CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING
  • Instead of rote memorization, focus on understanding concepts. This will help to solve complex problems.

  • STAY POSITIVE
  • Stay motivated and positive as positive thinking can enhance performance. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you.

  • SEEK HELP WHEN NEEDED
  • Toppers are no afraid to seek help from mentors when they face challenges.

  • HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
  • Get enough sleep, eat well and exercise. A healthy body supports a healthy mind.

How to get consistent in studies?

  • We often emphasize on being consistent in studies but how to be consistent? We need to discuss this part. So here are some practical tips to follow:

  • First of all, you need to realise and understand that why you are studying.
  • If you have a dream and you really want to achieve that, you will definitely strive hard for that.
  • And if you are not aiming for something and are demotivated, you will definitely get nothing and you are wasting your time.
  • Next, eliminate the friends who consume your time fruitlessly. Instead surround yourself with a group of students who prioritise their studies and adopt a productive mindset.
  • Your friends greatly influence your actions and how you allocate your time.
  • Establish a consistent study routine by creating a schedule that fits your lifestyle and commitments.
  • Allocate specific time slots for studying and stick to them as much as possible. Treat your study sessions as non-negotiable appointments with yourself.
    • Minimize distractions during study time. Put away your phone or keep it in silence mode to make a study friendly environment.
    • Inform your family or roommates about your study schedule to minimize interruptions.

“Consistency is built over time. Discipline initially requires practice but gradually it becomes your habit.”

How to vanquish the fear of failure?

  • MINDFULNESS

Forge a shield of mindfulness to protect your spirit.

  • SEEKING SUPPORT

Talking to someone you trust or find inspiration who can share your challenges by being your companion in your journey, can help you feel less alone.

  • FOCUS ON THE PRESENT

Instead of dwelling on potential failures in the future, concentrate on the present.

  • SET REALISTIC GOALS

Set achievable goals and celebrates small victories along the way. This can help build confidence and motivate you to keep going.

  • PRACTICE SELF- COMPASSION

Be kind to yourself. Understand that everyone makes mistakes and faces failure at some point. Treat yourself with kindness.

Where should you practice?

Should you take the physical tests conducted by testing services?

  • Regarding the extent of practice, focus more on Physics as it involves numericals and medical student mathematics. Then practice Chemistry, and finally Biology.

  • If you can afford the fees, take as many physical self-assessment tests as possible. These tests will teach you a lot, like crowd pressure, time management, the same test pattern as the official test, the possibility of MCQs, OMR sheet filling, and more. Essentially, they provide an environment similar to the official test.
